Fall Season Schedule is Here!
Thank you for your patience in waiting for our final schedule, we wanted to as many recreational players as possible to have the opportunity to utilize Octo Fields. Please go to the Schedule Tab to the left column for your age group schedules. REMEMBER LABOR DAY WEEKEND IS A BYE WEEK. NO RECREATIONAL GAMES WILL BE PLAYED.

METHODS OF TURNING IN A REPORT
Your report to the FSYSL’s Publicity Coordinator: Debbie Alvarez / #510-909-9186 /alvarez415@comcast.net no later than 7:00PMon the Sunday immediately following your Saturday game.
REPORT FORMAT AND REMINDERS
The following are a few important reminders:
1. Please see the "FSYSL WEEKLY GAME REPORT" form. Use it as a template for the required information to submit via email.
2. Space allows for only 4 players to be mentioned each week. Please mention only 4 names and PLEASE do not forget the player's last name.
3. Keep track of which players you mention each week, using the separate worksheet enclosed. This insures that the players are rotated and makes sure all players have a chance to see their names in print.
4. Be descriptive in your report. If a player scores the winning goal with only one minute to go, or the goalie makes an outstanding save, say so! Enclosed is a sheet of examples for you to look at.
5. Remember that Under 6 reports will not include scores, as we do not keep score in this age division Under 7 division teams and up, will have scores published, but standings are not kept.
6. Please print legibly on game reports, so that I may read what you want printed. It's a big disappointment to kids when their names appear misspelled!
7. Every effort will be made to insure accurate reports. Any errors in the reports will not affect team standings. Daily Republic Sports Editor reserves the right for final grammatical editing and if the content is too long. The report needs to be a maxium of 100 words.

Strikers 4, Rock Stars 1
The Strikers came on strong in the first half with good team passing and great offensive playing with two attempts on goal by Adriana Freeman. Lori Andersen scored a goal after dribbling downfield on a breakaway to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. The second half was highlighted with fine passing by Alyssa Bennett and strong defensive saves by the Strikers’ defender Monica Mills.

STARS - 2, TIGERS - 4
Aimee Major booted in two goals for the Stars with Chrissy Towner putting on pressure and Megan O'Hara excellent on defense. Jamie Doe had several stops as goalie. Kim Harper led the Tigers' offense making many passes while Angelica Cazares, Mary Park and Melinda Collin each scored a goal.
Welcome to CYSA's - FSYSL 2010 Soccer Season!
We all are looking forward to yet another highly successful and productive year. As always, we strive to advance our core value of serving all children by providing experiences that will enable each child to grow, learn, mature and succeed as adults by becoming responsible members of society. Every child is an individual of importance, to be nurtured, encouraged and supported in which CYSA & FSYSL offer something for every child.
Our soccer season for practices will start August 1, with our first game starting the first Saturday after FSUSD school year starts. Coaches will get their team rosters in the beginning of July and will start contacting their players around mid July. Season will end in November.
May & June Clinics are free and open for all the community children ages 5 – 18. The will be every Saturday from 9:00am to 12:00pm at Octo Inn Soccer Complex at 1600 Capitola Pkwy.
Season Age requirements: Please refer to the Age Matrix under the registration tab for exact placement.
The age cut off date is July 31, 2010. Which means your child must be 5 years by that date in order to play.
Volunteer to be a Coach, Assistant Coach or Team Manager!
All FSYSL and SSC coaches are wonderful volunteers! They are our ambassadors to the league. They are the first impression a parent and child have to our world of soccer. They volunteer because of their commitment to enhance children lives and to the betterment of our community.
Coaches are mentors of the community and they know that a child that plays in sports do better in school. Sports teach children about leadership, responsibility, commitment and team work.
All the “payment” our coaches receive are the smiles & laughter on our children’s faces when they get to play a game and be a part of a team. That is the best reward any coach could ever ask for.
If you want to be a mentor in a child’s life, volunteer to be a coach for our league. No experience is necessary; we will provide you all the training and offer free coach licensing classes.
Come make a difference in a child’s life and feel the reward of bringing fun and laughter to our community kids!
